As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be the trusted companion and healthcare assistant for clients requiring assistance with daily activities, medical needs, and emotional support, ensuring they maintain independence and dignity. Your energy, empathy, and professionalism will help create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing atmosphere for our clients.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care assistance including helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to support clients’ daily routines.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, transferring using patient transfer methods or Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Support clients with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by implementing specialized care strategies and maintaining a calm environment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations; ensure privacy during medical procedures and documentation.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions; perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to uphold a safe living space.
- Follow home healthcare regulations and protocols for hospice or end-of-life care, ensuring comfort and dignity for terminally ill patient
- Skills
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities in assisted living or home healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods, such as Hoyer lifts, to ensure safety during mobility assistance.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, family members, and healthcare teams while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with transfers or household chores; experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is highly valued.
- Knowledge of home health care assistance regulations along with hospice or palliative care practices to provide compassionate support at all stages of health.
