Duties
- Safely operate your personal vehicle, including box trucks or similar commercial vehicles, to complete delivery routes efficiently.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices and adherence to weight handling regulations.
- Follow planned routes using mobile devices or GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages accurately and professionally, addressing customer questions courteously.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure your vehicle remains in optimal condition for daily deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports for each route completed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols related to manual handling, heavy lifting, material handling equipment operation (such as pallet jacks or forklifts if applicable), and workplace safety standards.
Skills
- Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving and customer service excellence.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations, including material handling equipment operation like forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices.
- Experience with commercial driving, including box trucks or similar vehicles, with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and weight handling requirements in the workplace.
- Competence in using mobile devices for navigation and delivery tracking purposes.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with manual transmission is a plus.
