Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces to ensure high-quality interior walls and ceilings. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, creating smooth, durable finishes that meet safety standards and client expectations. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and hang drywall panels accurately according to construction plans and schematics
- Apply drywall mud (joint compound) and tape seams for seamless finishes
- Sand and texture drywall surfaces to achieve desired aesthetic effects
- Repair damaged drywall or existing surfaces with precision and care
- Install metal stud framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, and fixture mounting as needed
- Follow safety protocols consistently while operating hand tools, power tools, and scaffolding
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for precise installation
- Collaborate with other trades such as plastering, masonry, flooring installation, and construction plumbing to ensure project cohesion
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris regularly during projects
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and company safety policies
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall installation, taping, mudding, texturing, and repair within a construction setting
- Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and understanding of building codes related to drywall work
- Proficient with hand tools (e.g., knives, trowels), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and specialized equipment used in drywall finishing
- Knowledge of metal stud framing, ceiling installation, stucco application, caulking, and fixture mounting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols
- Ability to interpret technical drawings related to plumbing fixtures or electrical components when needed
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for quality finishes on complex projects
- Valid experience in the restoration industry or water damage remediation is a plus
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working at heights safely
