Department Lead
Job purpose
Department leads are responsible for maintaining their assigned department standards and metrics. They will drive sales through proper ordering, and decrease shrink by watching expiration and quality within the department. And ensure store standards in organization, cleanliness and health standards are upheld.
Duties and responsibilities
Department lead is responsible for
● Ensuring visual standards are maintained throughout each department in the store for displays, features and in-stock products.
● Ad and signage execution by walking the department and strategically planning how they are going to display and feature their items.
● Using the order guide and the new arrival order guide to maintain variety and sku counts. Understanding how perpetual inventory works and maintaining a healthy in stock position
● Monitoring sell by and expiration dates daily to properly mark down product and reduce throw aways and shrink.
● Properly and accurately execute price changes for loads and the Weekly price changes to ensure proper shrink management.
● Coach, correct and train other employees working in the department. Develop materials to support their learning and proper maintenance of the department.
● Unloading trucks, breaking down and sorting incoming freight shipments, and stocking products to maintain a full department.
● Organizing backstock so products are easy to access and reduce shrink.
● Have department fully ready and counted for Physical Inventories.
● Cashiering as needed.
● Maintaining brand standards on organization, cleanliness, and safety.
● Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements
● Ability to stand for long periods of time.
● Able to lift 50lbs or more.
- Bending, walking, standing, lifting, and kneeling for extended periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Duties in various parts of store in different temperatures and work environments
- Interacting with customers, associates, truck drivers, and vendors, all with a smile
