Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ functional abilities, focusing on assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with evidence-based practice standards for diverse populations
- Assist with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing recommendations for ongoing therapy or support services
- Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to medical terminology standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, case managers, educators, and physicians—to optimize patient outcomes
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with disabilities or special education needs
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Strong background in assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, case management, and developing detailed care plans tailored to each patient’s needs
- Knowledge of medical documentation standards, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate record keeping and documentation compliance

Experience:
- Inpatient Rehab Hospital: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Occupational Therapy License in the state of Louisiana (Required)
