Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic modalities.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and medical records management.
- Provide crisis intervention and triage for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or emergencies.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to foster recovery and resilience.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in the respective state.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Proficiency in medication management using CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Experience with telehealth platforms such as Athenahealth or other EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, behavioral health interventions, and crisis management techniques.
- Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous for managing complex cases in acute care environments.
