The Housekeeping Aide works under the supervision of the Director of Support Services and performs the following tasks: cleans resident rooms, cleans public areas, assists other departments in moving residents to different rooms, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
1. Is responsible for using the Christian Care chain of command
2. Upholds the mission statement, values and goals of Christian Care
3. Responsible for knowledge of and compliance, where applicable, with regulatory or credentialing agencies such as state and federal agencies, Medicare and Medicaid, and any other agency
4. Ensures that sanitation and safety standards are maintained above levels that are acceptable according to state and federal regulations
5. Meet cleaning schedules
6. Avoid waste with cleaning supplies used
7. Through cleaning of rooms pertaining to the “In-Depth” room schedule
8. Help other departments in the transfer of a resident and belongings from one room to another
9. Light cleaning of rooms that are not on the “In-Depth” schedule for that day (check garbage, replace toilet paper in restrooms, and any light cleaning as needed)
10. Assures that proper storage of cleaning items complies with current guidelines.
11. Ensures that housekeeping areas are safe and sanitary
12. Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to department procedures
13. Attend or complete in-service education and departmental meetings as required
14. Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude in the housekeeping and public areas to all staff and family members
15. Responsible for all policies and procedures as they relate to the support services department
16. Compliance with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection control procedures, application of universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of protective equipment, and handling of hazardous materials
17. Ensures maintenance of confidentiality of resident information by self
18. Ensures self and all support service staff care for and use resident property with honesty and integrity at all times
