We are looking for an energetic, patient, and knowledgeable Algebra Teacher to join our summer enrichment team. Whether you’re teaching foundational pre-algebra concepts or advanced quadratic functions, your goal is to make math accessible, relevant, and—dare we say—fun.
- Instructional Delivery: Lead daily Algebra lessons covering core topics such as linear equations, inequalities, graphing, systems of equations, and polynomials.
- Curriculum Adaptation: Tailor existing curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with varying skill levels, ensuring both remediation and acceleration are possible.
- Active Learning: Move beyond the whiteboard. Incorporate hands-on activities, math games, and collaborative problem-solving to keep energy high during the summer.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct low-stakes assessments to ensure student understanding and knowledge, encouraging feedback and preparation for the upcoming year.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment that respects the "summer" atmosphere while prioritizing academic growth.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of Algebra I and II standards, ability to provide foundational skills to students.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to connect with middle and high school students and communicate progress effectively to parents/guardians.
- Adaptability: Ability to pivot lesson plans based on student engagement and "aha!" moments.
- Patience: A genuine desire to help students who may struggle with math anxiety.
