Position Summary
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide skilled, hands-on therapy services. You will help residents improve mobility, increase independence, and enhance overall quality of life through individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed physical therapy treatments to improve function, mobility, and relieve pain
- Deliver skilled therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist
- Assist in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on resident progress
- Monitor and document patients’ strength, mobility, and response to therapy
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and techniques
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Communicate updates and observations to the supervising PT
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and participate in care planning meetings
Qualifications
- Active Texas Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license
- In good standing with all licensing boards and regulatory agencies
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred
- Familiarity with Net Health documentation system a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
