The Jacksonville Public Library is actively seeking a Manager for Metadata and Cataloging.
The position reports to the Senior Manager of the Library Collection and holds primary responsibility for the cataloging and materials processing functions of the Library and has ownership of day-to-day operations, strategy, and performance. The position leads and manages teams that complete cataloging, classification, and physical processing of library materials across all formats. This role ensures timely, accurate, and consistent access to the collection by managing workflows, supervising staff, and maintaining metadata standards that support both efficient material turnaround and strong discoverability for customers. The individual is expected to exercise sound judgment and initiative in driving outcomes. This position offers significant responsibility and requires proactive leadership and independent decision-making within the established guidelines and strategies set by senior leadership.

- A Masters’ Degree from an accredited institution in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program is required.

At least four years of professional experience in a library.

At least three years of experience in cataloging.

Two (2) years’ supervisory experience is preferred.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Depending on assignment, a valid driver's license may be required and must be maintained during employment in this class. Depending on assignment, must qualify prior to appointment, obtain, and maintain during employment a City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification.
