Chem-Plate is seeking a hands-on Human Resources & Safety Generalist to support our manufacturing team. Chem-Plate is a growing metal finishing company serving customers nationwide across the automotive, construction, military, transportation, and agriculture industries.
What You'll Do
- Support hourly recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee relations
- Maintain employee records and HR information in Paylocity
- Assist with benefits, leave management, performance processes, and employee communications
- Coordinate HR, safety, and compliance training
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, and anti-harassment training documentation
- Assist with safety inspections, incident investigations, workers' compensation, and corrective actions
- Support DOT compliance, including driver files, licenses, medical certifications, and training
- Help communicate and enforce HR and safety policies
- Partner with employees, supervisors, and management to promote a positive, safe workplace
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of HR experience preferred
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Willingness to learn OSHA, DOT, and safety compliance
- Comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing/production environment
