Garden Center Team Associate
Cayuga Landscape is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join our staff for active, physical outdoor work here at our 4-acre garden center. This position offers many opportunities to learn about plants and develop skills.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly and positive attitude, and have a great work ethic. Horticulture/gardening education or experience is desirable but not required. Applicants are required to work at least one weekend day every week of the season, this is non-negotiable. Maintaining good daily attendance is mandatory during the peak business period of March-June 28 , with vacations scheduled after those dates.
Position Requirements:
· Provide excellent customer service, in-person and on phone
· Able to work independently and within a team
· Follow procedures and take direction from managers
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor setting and in inclement weather
· Ability to lift 40 pounds.
· Interest in learning about plants and learning the job
Responsibilities/Job Tasks:
· Primarily work in the garden center, stocking trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.
· Maintain garden center sales and storage areas, display beds and grounds to a high standard, keeping neat and addressing safety concerns
· Plant care including watering and weeding
· Assist customers with plant selection, sales and vehicle loading
· Operate POS system
· Opening and closing duties as required
· On and off-site duties include gardening (weeding, deadheading, mulching), plant or bulk material deliveries, and skid steer operation with training provided

This position is seasonal, with employment beginning in spring and ending in late November or early to mid-December. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time 40 hrs. per week (4 weekdays and 1 weekend day), some overtime. Part-time, to be considered and includes 1 weekend day
