Join our dynamic team at New Gallop Academy as a K-6th Grade Tutor. We are looking for tutors in various subjects, where your passion for education and dedication to student success will make a meaningful impact!
In this role, we are looking for tutors who can work closely with elementary and middle school students to offer academic enrichment, dance, homework help, drawing & painting, Spanish, and more!
We want to foster a love for learning, and support their academic growth. Whether providing one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction, you will utilize innovative teaching methods and learning technology to create engaging, personalized learning experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to empower young learners and contribute to their educational journey in a vibrant community setting.
Duties
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions in subjects
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials that meet diverse student requirements and promote active engagement
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive online lessons
- Assess students’ progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with special education needs and those from diverse cultural backgrounds to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Prepare students for standardized tests such as the SAT by offering targeted preparation tutoring (if applicable to subject)
- Manage classroom or virtual environments effectively, maintaining a positive atmosphere conducive to learning
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings, preferably with K-6th grade students
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content across multiple subjects, including English language arts and math
- Strong knowledge of learning styles adaptability and instructional adaptability to meet varied student needs
- Experience using learning technology platforms for online instruction and virtual tutoring sessions
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Background in science tutoring, SAT preparation tutoring, or special education is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young learners effectively
