- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Expected Hours: 50 hours per week
Staffworks Group is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Repair Technician Located in Twinsburg, OH.
The job is to repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies while ensuring all tooling meets original specifications. This position requires experience with die maintenance, welding, machining, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting production tooling in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies to original specifications.
- Receive daily work assignments from the Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Transport, clean, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies using forklifts, cranes, and die cleaning equipment.
- Build and replace die segments, cores, trim punches, details, and components using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
- Polish, grind, and finish die cavity surfaces to required specifications.
- Perform die repairs while tooling is mounted on production equipment, including removing stuck castings and correcting dimensional issues.
- Troubleshoot tooling problems and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Perform welding repairs in both the foundry and Tool & Die Repair Department.
- Complete work orders, repair documentation, inspection records, and required paperwork accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with training new employees as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical school certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent Tool & Die training preferred.
- Up to 2 years of Tool & Die Repair experience or willingness to complete a structured two-year on-the-job training program.
- Tool & Die Repair Journeyman certification is a plus but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Experience with welding, grinding, polishing, machining, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely operate cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
