Junior Project Engineer

Position Summary
The Junior Project Engineer provides technical and administrative support for large-scale semiconductor construction projects in Boise, Idaho. Working under the direction of the Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, and Superintendent, this position assists with project coordination, document control, procurement, field support, scheduling, and quality assurance while developing the knowledge and skills required to advance into a Project Engineer role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with project coordination between the owner, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and project correspondence.
- Maintain project files, drawing logs, specifications, and document control systems.
- Assist with procurement by tracking material orders, equipment deliveries, and vendor communications.
- Support project scheduling, look-ahead planning, and progress reporting.
- Perform field walks to verify work progress, identify issues, and support the Superintendent and Senior Project Engineer.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs, change order documentation, cost tracking, and project reporting.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, punch list activities, and project closeout documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with project safety, quality, environmental, and cleanroom requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
- 0–3 years of commercial, industrial, or semiconductor construction experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environment.
Software Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is based in a project office in Boise, Idaho, with regular interaction on an active semiconductor construction site. Compliance with all project safety, security, quality, and cleanroom protocols is required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk active construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, wear required PPE, work at a computer for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, with overtime, evenings, and weekends as required to support project schedules and milestones.
Key Expectations
The Junior Project Engineer is expected to demonstrate initiative, maintain accurate project documentation, communicate effectively with the project team, support field operations, and continuously develop the technical and leadership skills necessary to progress into a Project Engineer role.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
