Automotive Technician – Shop Experience Required

- Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Guaranteed Hourly Pay (No Flat Rate / Book Time)
- Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM No Weekends
About the Position
We are a small, privately owned automotive repair shop servicing a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles. We are looking for an Automotive Technician with recent professional experience working in an independent repair shop or dealership. This position is intended for technicians who have already worked in a commercial automotive repair environment. Our shop offers consistent weekday hours, guaranteed hourly pay, and the opportunity to work on a variety of repairs in a team-oriented environment. What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair engine performance issues
- Assist with or perform transmission diagnosis and repairs based on experience
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, and cooling system repairs
- Complete routine maintenance and vehicle inspections
- Use automotive diagnostic scan tools and equipment
- Accurately document repairs and communicate findings when needed
- Help maintain a clean, organized shop and customer waiting area
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of professional automotive repair experience in a commercial repair shop or dealership
- Ability to perform brake, suspension, steering, and cooling system repairs independently
- Experience diagnosing and repairing engine performance concerns
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment
- Own basic mechanic's tools
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
Preferred
- Experience with transmission diagnosis and repair
- Trade school certificate or ASE certifications
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- No weekends

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work underneath vehicles and in varying weather conditions when necessary
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform automotive repair tasks
- Ability to occasionally push or pull equipment and vehicle components
Work Environment
- Fast-paced automotive repair shop
- Work performed indoors with occasional outdoor work
- Exposure to noise, vehicle exhaust, automotive fluids, and varying temperatures
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required when applicable
