Our Service Advisor is the voice of the shop. You are the first person a customer sees when they pull in and the last one they talk to before they drive off. You listen to what is going on with their vehicle, turn that into a clear repair order for our technicians, and keep the customer in the loop from start to finish. If you take pride in getting the details right and doing what you said you would do, you will fit in here.
Responsibilities:
- Customer advocacy: Greet customers promptly and professionally, and walk the vehicle with them to document its condition and what it needs.
- Service coordination: Turn customer concerns into detailed, accurate repair orders for the technicians.
- Sales and estimates: Give accurate cost estimates for repairs and maintenance, and explain the why behind every recommendation so the customer understands what keeps their vehicle safe and on the road.
- Workflow management: Track every vehicle moving through the shop and give customers proactive updates by phone, text, or email.
- Quality control: Review completed work orders with the customer, process payment, and make sure they leave knowing exactly what was done.
- Consult with technicians on customer repairs.
- Note every customer file thoroughly and accurately so repeat visits go smooth.
- Exceed minimum standards of sales and customer service.
Requirements:
- High School degree or GED required
- A minimum of 1 year in a service advisor role or high volume retail customer service
- Exceptional verbal and written communication. You can explain a complicated repair in plain English.
- Comfortable with DMS software and basic office programs
- A foundational understanding of automotive systems (brakes, engines, electrical) is preferred, though we will train the right personality
- Detail oriented and organized. You follow a process and you follow through.
- High integrity, and the ability to handle a frustrated customer with grace
- Clean and professional appearance
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug tests
