Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our innovative packaging company. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed and precise computer-aided design (CAD) models and schematics that support the development of packaging solutions. Your expertise will directly influence the quality, functionality, and manufacturability of our packaging products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design, drafting, and CAD software, contributing to efficient project execution and continuous improvement in our design processes.
Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models of packaging designs using industry-standard software such as Solidworks, Inventor, and Artios
- Manage multiple projects from concept to build
- Create accurate schematics and technical drawings that meet customer specifications, using all types of plastic, metal, foam and other materials
- Collaborate with product development teams to translate conceptual ideas into functional design prototypes.
- Create prototypes by using CAD table, CNC and waterjet.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and quality assurance purposes, including BOMs, Assembly drawings and build standards.
- Assist in production set up and tracking
- Assist in reviewing existing designs for improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Incorporate feedback from engineers and production teams to refine designs and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain organized CAD files and ensure version control throughout project lifecycles.
- Stay updated on emerging CAD technologies such as 2D animation tools to enhance presentation capabilities.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including Solidworks, Inventor, and Artios
- Strong mechanical design skills with experience in drafting complex schematics.
- Ability to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models aligned with industry standards.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, mainly excel, and 3d printing
- Excellent attention to detail combined with effective communication skills.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Open to change and evolving responsibilities
- Must be Self-motivated and have excellent time management skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and perform mulitple tasks
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
