Position Overview:
The anticipated position will provide training and technical assistance regarding family engagement, specifically related to literacy development for children with disabilities and the use of high leverage practices. This part-time, minimum 15-hour a week will support school district staff to work in partnership with families of children and youth with disabilities to strengthen educational outcomes. This position has opportunities for an increase in hours per week.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Lived experience as a family member navigating the systems in NH preferred
- Experience working with families and school personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams
- Knowledge and/or experience facilitating family engagement at all levels of the system
- Knowledge of the Science of Reading is considered an asset
Essential functions:
- Provide professional development regarding family engagement and promoting parent voice
- Support the development of family friendly materials and strategies
- Develop and/or review family training curriculum as appropriate
- Organize, promote and facilitate family/stakeholder meetings, family focus groups and/or focused interviews
- Perform other duties as assigned
License, certifications necessary
- Valid drivers’ license and maintain automobile insurance
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background check
Typical Work Schedule:
This position is a hybrid (remote and in-office) position located in Concord, NH but travel independently by personal vehicle throughout the state may be required. This position is flexible and may require evening and/or weekend commitments.
Educational Requirements:
- · Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Human Services, or related field preferred
