JOB SUMMARY
The Food Pantry/Dining Coordinator will provide support to the organization as well as customer service to neighbors, vendors, volunteers and partner agencies. This position will be detail oriented as well as sensitive to the needs of the vulnerable population served by the organization. This individual will work with staff to communicate unique neighbor needs that extend beyond food insecurity so that we are able to meet other needs or remove crucial barriers to addressing those needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED certificate;
· Agreement with the mission and vision of Sojourner Truth Ministries, Inc.;
· One year’s experience in an office setting;
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as phone etiquette;
· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills;
· Team-player and willingness to learn and take direction;
· Culturally sensitive and respectful to the patrons that we serve.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
· Valid driver’s license carrying adequate insurance;
· Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance (when applicable) prior to start date;
· Safe Sanctuaries Training within 30 days of hire;
· Computer experience with word processing, web-browsing, Canva, and database management.
· Physical ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations, including the ability to sit for long periods of time, stairs, stand, lift and carry up to 20 pounds, have unrestricted use of upper body and a clear speaking voice; and,
· Participation in job-related training, including First Aid, CPR, Mental health First Aid, etc.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The Food Pantry/Dining Coordinator individual will be integral in responding to the hunger mapping priorities.
Improving multilingual service accessibility and culturally relevant food offerings, especially those targeting Hispanic or Latino households; - Ensure that multilingual families are engaged in a culturally sensitive way, utilizing language tools to meet their needs.
Improving pantry accessibility for working households, especially those with children
Lowering documentation requirements and streamlining intake processes –Welcome and engage neighbors with a warm demeanor to improve dignity and build trust. Complete documentation so to assist neighbors in completing forms as well as ask non-invasive questions to ascertain if further supports are required.
Taking steps to reduce wait times at pantries and/or improve the experience of waiting – Have knowledge of established routines and anticipate what needs to be prioritized and improve efficiency and reduce wait times. This individual will understand that time is valuable and to be sensitive to time constraints that our neighbors face.
Promote and increase SNAP participation among food pantry visitors – The Food Pantry Coordinator will keep abreast of SNAP benefit information and communicate to neighbors as well as distribute necessary information. They will guide neighbors through the process and solicit help from other staff if necessary.
Promote and increase WIC participation among likely-eligible food pantry visitors, potentially by seeking partnership with local WIC agencies and clinics – The Food Pantry Coordinator will establish a relationship with Hope Enterprises, Inc. and the WIC program so that they can provide a warm hand-off bridging the gap between the neighbor and WIC.
Volunteer Coordination – Communicate and manage volunteers, as well as volunteer groups.

· Strong phone etiquette and the ability to return calls in a timely manner;
· Computer skills, word processing and social media skills;
· General administrative skills, teachable and adaptable;
· Inventory management and ordering supplies as needs arise.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
