Estimator:
Position Summary
SignResource is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Estimator to join our signage manufacturing team. The Estimator will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom signage projects by evaluating materials, labor, production requirements, and project specifications.
This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is analytical, organized, comfortable working with numbers and technical information, and interested in developing a career in the signage manufacturing industry. The Estimator will work closely with Sales, Design, Production, Purchasing, and Installation to understand project requirements and develop accurate project pricing.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in reviewing project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements for signage orders.
Gather and analyze data on materials such as vinyl, acrylic, metal, LED components, and other signage supplies.
Estimate labor hours and production costs needed to fabricate and install signage.
Collaborate with design, production, and installation teams to understand project scope and timelines.
Use estimation software and spreadsheets to prepare detailed cost proposals.
Maintain accurate records of pricing, vendor quotes, and historical cost data.
Support senior estimators and sales staff in developing competitive bids and pricing.
Communicate clearly with suppliers and internal teams to confirm material availability and costs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in manufacturing, design, or related field a plus.
Strong math, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Basic mechanical understanding helpful.
Knowledge of signage construction, materials, production processes, or installation methods preferred.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (with a focus on Excel).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and grow within the signage industry.
Work Environment:
This position primarily involves office-based estimating and coordination activities and may require periodic interaction with the manufacturing and production environment. The employee may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions when visiting production areas and is expected to follow all applicable company safety requirements.
