Job Summary
Solo Attorney seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join my legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal areas, ensuring smooth case management, thorough research, and accurate document preparation. Duties
- Case & File Management: Maintain case files, and coordinate hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Document Preparation: Draft legal pleadings, motions, financial disclosures, inventories/appraisements, probate petitions, orders, and correspondence.
- Court Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for court staff, and opposing counsel with professional empathy, clarity, and efficiency.
- Time Tracking & Weekly Reporting: Accurately log billable time and work activities daily and submit structured weekly activity reports to the attorney.
- Trial & Hearing Preparation: Assist in organizing discovery responses, preparing exhibit binders, indexing evidence, and attending in-person trial prep sessions or court proceedings when required.
- Court Filing & Service: Coordinate electronic court filings (e-filing) and manage service of process in accordance with local court rules.Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in legal support across multiple practice areas including estate planning, family law, or civil litigation.
- Familiarity with Westlaw Formbuilder
- Knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with court filing procedures across different jurisdictions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with experience in document review, proofreading, and data entry.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
- Demonstrated research skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
