Paraplanner / Client Service Advisor
Temporary (6 Months) with Potential to Become Permanent
15–20 Hours per Week | $35–$42 per Hour
An independent financial planner is seeking an experienced Paraplanner / Client Service Advisor to support an established book of clients and help manage the day-to-day operations of a wealth management practice.
This is not a sales position—there are no prospecting, networking, or production requirements. The role is focused on partnering with the primary advisor to deliver exceptional financial planning support, outstanding client service, and efficient practice management.
This position is ideal for someone seeking flexibility, including those balancing family or school schedules. Preferred availability is between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m Monday–Friday.
The position will begin as a six-month temporary role with a primary focus on advisor support, and practice management. As the advisor becomes familiar with the firm's clients and processes, responsibilities will gradually expand to include involvement with clients. Hybrid work may also be available based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Advisor Support & Practice Management
- Partner with the primary advisor in managing and supporting an established client base.
- Review client accounts to identify planning opportunities, service needs, and follow-up items.
- Prepare meeting agendas, and presentation materials.
- Review portfolios and implement approved recommendations.
- Monitor client portfolios and identify matters requiring advisor attention.
- Coordinate follow-up action items.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant client documentation.
- Delegate account service requests and paperwork to the service team while overseeing timely completion.
- Assist with compliance requirements and maintain organized records.
- Learn and become proficient with the firm's technology platforms and various financial software.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with implementing new technology and automation tools to enhance the client experience.
Client Relationship Management
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and service requests.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service.
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding planning needs and follow-up items.
- Coordinate with clients' CPAs, attorneys, and other professional partners as needed.
- Gradually participate in client meetings as familiarity with the practice and client relationships develops.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a client-facing financial advisory or wealth management environment required.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
- Series 7 and Series 65/66 licenses required.
- Warm, personable, and client-focused with a positive attitude.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and investment principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Comfortable learning and utilizing financial technology platforms.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, and work independently.
