Overview
The Accounting Manager is a key member of the Finance team responsible for leading the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close process. This role provides leadership to the accounting team while driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and strong internal controls. The Accounting Manager oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing functions to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely invoicing, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This position partners closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, and other business leaders to support organizational objectives and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, billing transactions, and other accounting activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing operations, ensuring timely processing, accurate revenue recognition, and prompt invoicing.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting and billing functions.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and prepare supporting schedules, documentation, and audit requests.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Technology, and other departments to resolve accounting issues, improve business processes, and support strategic initiatives.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and continuous improvement culture.
- Monitor team performance, establish priorities, and ensure workloads are effectively managed to meet deadlines.
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures while ensuring consistent application across all accounting functions.
- Support employee development through ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- This position will support multiple entities.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and general ledger accounting.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience leading accounting or finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing functions.
- Demonstrated success implementing process improvements, workflow automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial systems implementations, automation tools, or business intelligence/reporting platforms.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
