Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to accurately bend and shape sheet metal components according to precise specifications. Your expertise in machine operation, measurement, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and machine calibration for each job
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine bending angles, dimensions, and sequence of operations
- Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify accuracy against quality standards
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to achieve desired bend angles and tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal forming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other related processes
- Follow safety standards in production environments by adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating press brake machines within a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints accurately
- Proficiency in measuring tools and precision measurement techniques for quality control purposes
- Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and plasma cutting is a plus
- Knowledge of shop math including basic calculations necessary for machining and forming processes
- Ability to operate hand tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Understanding of safety standards related to machine operation, welding, forming machines, and sheet metal fabrication processes
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy
- Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues quickly
