Job Summary:
Provide direct patient care in our fast-paced and high-volume surgical center. The nurse will work within a team to prepare and recover patients from outpatient endoscopy procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Basic supervision of medical assistants
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess, and respond to patient care needs
- Utilizing the nursing care plan, identify any potential problems with each patient and resolve the issue
- Reports and documents information in an accurate and timely manner both in the EMR and verbally
- Perform pre-procedure and discharge instruction with the patient addressing questions and concerns
- Initiate intravenous access
- Vigilant of patient?s change in condition, with immediate assessment, interpretation, and documentation of signs and symptoms, notifying physician of any changes
