American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum position at a Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital in New Mexico, with night shift scheduling and a requirement for NRP certification.

Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit in a Level I Trauma, academic teaching children's hospital with 554 staffed beds

Patient population includes antepartum, postpartum, and gynecological cases

Patients may require magnesium sulfate infusions for pre-eclampsia management and fetal heart tone monitoring or NSTs once per shift

Charting via Cerner EMR

Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
-
3–4 weekend shifts required per every 4-week schedule

No on-call requirement
-
Floating required to Women's Special Care unit; candidates unable to manage antepartum patients may float to med/surg instead
-
Self-scheduling is available; block scheduling is not guaranteed

Free on-site parking

Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted

Current certifications required: BLS and NRP

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Experience in larger facilities and/or Level I Trauma settings preferred

Ability to care for postpartum patients receiving magnesium sulfate infusions for pre-eclampsia

Ability to perform fetal heart tone monitoring and/or non-stress tests (NSTs) preferred; willingness to float to med/surg is an acceptable alternative

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

COVID vaccination is optional; proof of vaccination series or a signed declination must be provided

Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
