Amy's Sunshine Center is looking for an Assistant Teacher to work in our Early Childhood Education program. We are a licensed childcare center and Amy's Sunshine Center is operated by a family owned and operated business. Our center is located in Horseheads, NY.
We are looking for an assistant teacher. You will assist in teaching the children important elements that they will encounter soon after they enter school life. An assistant teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.
Skills Preferred
- Proven experience as a childcare worker
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with best practices for the day-to-day educational procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to act as a positive role model
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Certification in child CPR
- Ability to pass background check
