Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects, from structural steel to ductwork and custom fabrications. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
- Perform welding using various methods including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS standards.
- Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math skills to ensure precise fabrication.
- Fit and assemble fabricated parts on-site or in the shop using rigging techniques, pipe threading tools, and assembly procedures.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), rigging safety, and machinery operation guidelines.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed for material handling and project setup.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspection reports, and quality control documentation in compliance with ASME codes & standards.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and site protocols.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting aligned with AWS standards.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for accurate fabrication.
- Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal fabrication, ductwork manufacturing, pipe threading, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience operating fabrication shop equipment like press brakes, plasma cutters, power tools, machining centers, and sheet metal shears.
- Familiarity with rigging practices for lifting heavy components safely on construction sites or within fabrication shops.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols including proper handling of metal materials and operation of machinery in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $25.44 - $30.64 per hour
