This position serves as the Assistant Director for the Child Support Program and is a member of the Director's Executive Staff. This position is responsible for the establishment of goals, priorities, and policies, budgets, and performance standards for the Child Support Division. It is also responsible for the administration and oversight of the Child Support Program and compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Under the general direction of the Director, work is performed with wide latitude for independent action, management discretion and judgment. This position is responsible for recruitment, retention, discipline and evaluation of personnel. The position administers contracts with private and public sectors and administers the financial aspects of the office to include the collections and distribution of child support collections ($10.9 Million for FY24), and program operational budget. Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Nine years of experience in administrative, professional or technical work, four years must have involved supervision of other employees or exercising responsibility for program development.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required general experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, two years must have been in an administrative supervisory or consultative capacity.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Five years of Leadership experience, including personnel management and performance evaluations responsibilities.
- Three years experience in Child Support Programs or Family Law.
- Two years experience developing and implementing program plans or system changes, including budgeting and statistical reporting.
- Two years experience working collaboratively with community partners - public and/or private, to advance agency goals.
