Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Job Site Foreman/Handyman to lead and manage construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role combines hands-on handyman skills with supervisory responsibilities, overseeing daily operations, coordinating trades, and maintaining quality control.
Duties
- Perform skilled carpentry work for residential construction projects
- Build and renovate homes from framing through finish work
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, layouts, and specifications
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure work meets project standards
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other trade professionals
- Manage daily jobsite operations and project progress
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding schedules, expectations, changes, and project updates
- Identify and resolve construction issues in the field
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
- Ensure work is completed to code, company standards, and client expectations
- Track materials, tools, timelines, and subcontractor performance
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of carpentry or residential construction experience required
- Strong experience building homes and managing residential construction projects
- Skilled in framing, trim, finish carpentry, repairs, and general construction
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades
- Ability to manage client expectations professionally and respectfully
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
- Must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Must follow safety procedures and maintain a professional jobsite
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Must have basic hand tools; larger tools may be provided depending on the project
Preferred Skills
- Experience as a lead carpenter, construction supervisor, or project lead
- Knowledge of residential building codes and inspection processes
- Experience with custom homes, remodels, additions, or high-end residential projects
- Ability to estimate materials and plan jobsite workflow
- Strong leadership skills with subcontractors, laborers, and vendors
