Job Description
Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Reports to General Manager
Job summary
· Plan, direct and coordinate the activities related to incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping and shipping material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming material; and arranging for transportation of finished goods.
Summary of essential job functions
- Utilize positive employee techniques to lead, coordinate and forecast demand and/or create supply plans to ensure availability of materials or products.
- Review orders, production schedules or shipping/receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes or destinations.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bill of lading, or shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies for report accounting or recordkeeping purposes.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes & rates.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
- Use company vehicle to deliver and pick up parts from processing houses and or customers.
Minimum requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Kansas Driver's License.
- At least five (2) years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is needed for this occupation. Preferably with an OEM or Tier I/II supplier in the Aerospace environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), JobBoss.
- Meet or exceed the job requirements of the job.
- Identified candidates must be able to work overtime when needed.
