Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide comprehensive mental health services within our clinical team. The ideal candidate will deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans for diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives through various therapeutic modalities, crisis intervention, and case management. Experience with telehealth platforms and familiarity with medical documentation and ICD coding are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical tools and medical terminology.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clients’ needs and clinical best practices.
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and behavior management techniques to support behavioral change.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and document progress using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and other relevant medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients with complex mental health needs, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to enhance treatment approaches.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in mental health treatment and coding practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; licensure as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and behavioral therapy.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems and medical documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and diverse populations requiring specialized care such as gender issues counseling or chronic pain management.
- Skills in motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and other evidence-based modalities preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and familiarity with inpatient/outpatient clinical settings.
- Strong case management skills with the ability to handle intake assessments effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for patient care coordination and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team within a clinical environment that may include telehealth platforms. This position is integral to delivering high-quality mental health services that promote recovery and well-being across diverse client populations while adhering to all regulatory standards for confidentiality and documentation.
