Job Summary
Jellum Law, P.A., a banking and financial services law firm serving clients regionally and nationally, seeks a full-time highly motivated associate attorney. The attorney will be a key member of our transaction team, focusing primarily on U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) lending transactions. The successful candidate will have substantial experience independently managing and closing SBA 7(a) and 504 loan transactions and advising lenders on SBA eligibility, compliance, collateral, and closing requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
Our ideal candidate will have a degree from an accredited law school, active licensure in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and a minimum of five (5) years of commercial and SBA lending experience. Candidates should have demonstrated experience handling 7(a) and 504 loan closings, including drafting and negotiating loan documentation, review of title work and surveys, review of UCC/lien searches, review of lease and related agreements, review of purchase and sale documentation, review of franchise documentation, and experience with other related due diligence items. A strong understanding of SBA SOP requirements, eligibility analysis, collateral requirements, and closing procedures is required. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment serving financial institution clients.
