Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety at all times through vigilant child supervision and behavior management.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns, fostering strong parent-teacher partnerships.
- Help implement classroom routines such as snack time, nap time, and transitions to promote consistency and security for children.
- Support children with personal care needs including diapering or toileting assistance for infants and toddlers, adhering to health and safety standards like pediatric first aid protocols.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood First Aid) is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within the classroom environment.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with energy, patience, and enthusiasm.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety is essential.
