Advantage TerraFab has an immediate opening for a CNC Machine Operator-1st & 2nd Shifts. Performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes and multiple machine operation required through extended experience and training.
Duties and Responsibilites:
- Position work pieces for processing.
- Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending, or pressing.
- Uses gauges, calipers, squares, or rulers for measurement.
- Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimentions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
- Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades, or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools.
- Adjusts controls to set cutting speed depth, and feed rates; and diagnose problems and makes necessary adjustments.
- Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs in Process Quality Inspections.
- Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane.
- Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts.
- May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader.
- May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.
- May mark material after processing; store matrial for additional processing and/or shipping.
- Restocks material.
- Completes work order paperwork/documentation.

Requirements:
- Reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals.)
- Measuring skills to read English and Metric Systems and a tape measure, caliper, gauges, or micrometer.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
- Experience operating an overhead crane/forklift operator.
- Must be proficient in the use of hand tools including grinder.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.
- Computer literacy; Microsof Productions, CAD Programming and ERP.
- Must be organized with attention to detail.
- Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Demands:
- Occupaion requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (>5.5 hours per day)
- Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering. reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat, kneel, or bend.
- Left, carry, push/pull 50-100 pounds with assistance.
- Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Steel-toed boots or metatarsal boots.
- Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouse.
- Protective eyeware.
- Hand protection.
- Arm guards/sleeves.
- Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to some of the following work conditions:
- Environmental temperature changes hot &cold.
- Moderate to loud levels.
- Vibration.
- Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles.
- Day and night shifts.
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
