Job Overview
The Grove Inn and Suites is seeking a motivated, dependable, and guest-focused Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our locally owned hotel in Eagle Grove, Iowa. This position is responsible for providing strong leadership to hotel staff, delivering an excellent guest experience, maintaining operational standards, supporting marketing and occupancy goals, and ensuring the property is clean, welcoming, and well managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping coordination, guest services, reservations, and property readiness.
- Lead, schedule, train, and support hotel team members to ensure consistent service and accountability.
- Create a positive guest experience by responding promptly and professionally to guest needs, concerns, and feedback.
- Monitor reservations, occupancy trends, room rates, and revenue opportunities to support business goals.
- Assist with marketing efforts, community outreach, and relationship building to increase awareness and bookings.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality standards throughout guest rooms, common areas, and exterior spaces.
- Coordinate maintenance needs, vendor communication, supply ordering, and inventory management.
- Handle basic administrative duties, including reporting, cash handling oversight, invoice review, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, applicable laws, safety requirements, and guest privacy standards.
- Communicate regularly with ownership regarding operations, staffing, property needs, financial performance, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, hospitality, property management, customer service, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to changing needs, and work independently.
- Comfort using reservation systems, email, basic office software, and online platforms.
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call needs as hotel operations require
