POSITION: Elementary WVImpact+ Numeracy Coach
LOCATION: Glade Elementary School
EMPLOYMENT TERM: 210 days
REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum & Instruction / Building Principal
SALARY: Based on the state mandated salary schedule according to degree level and years of teaching experience ($40,838.00- $71,037.00 per year) plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
Webster County School District is seeking a highly qualified Elementary WVImpact+
Numeracy Coach to support high-quality instruction and improve student achievement in
grades K–6. The WVImpact+ Numeracy Coach will work collaboratively with teachers and
school leaders to implement student-centered coaching cycles, strengthen instructional
practices, and support the effective use of data to inform instruction.
This position is funded through the WVImpact+ initiative, which focuses on improving
numeracy outcomes through job-embedded professional learning and evidence-based
instructional practices.
The Numeracy Coach will serve as a non-evaluative instructional leader who supports
teachers through coaching cycles, modeling, co-planning, data analysis, and professional
learning. The Elementary WVImpact+ Numeracy Coach position is designed to support
instructional improvement rather than evaluation. Although the WVImpact+ Numeracy
Coach will be expected to work closely with school administrators, assisting them with
identifying effective instructional practices during walkthroughs, the WVImpact+
Numeracy Coach will not be involved in the educator evaluation process.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
The Elementary Numeracy Coach will:
- Implement student-centered coaching cycles with K–6 teachers to improve
instructional practice and student outcomes in the area of mathematics.
- Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and plan targeted instruction.
- Support the implementation of West Virginia College- and Career-Readiness
Standards (WVCCR) in Mathematics.
- Model and demonstrate evidence-based instructional strategies in numeracy.
- Collaborate with other WVImpact+Numeracy Coaches to facilitate professional
learning opportunities for teachers and staff.
- Support teachers in implementing effective instructional practices aligned to
district initiatives in mathematics.
- Assist teachers with data collection, analysis, and instructional decision-making.
- Work with school leadership to support continuous school improvement efforts.
- Provide job-embedded professional learning and coaching for teachers.
- Support grant reporting and accountability measures related to WVImpact+.
- Participate in district, regional, and state professional learning opportunities related
to the initiative.
- Maintain documentation of coaching cycles and professional learning activities.
Skills and Dispositions

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Fully certified K–6 Elementary Teacher at the time of application. WVDE Certificate
endorsed in Elementary Education K-6 or K-8
- Minimum of five (5) successful years of K–5 teaching experience.
- Ability to attend mandatory position training July 20–22, 2026 in Charleston, WV.
Numeracy Coach:
- Knowledge of K–6 WVCCR standards for mathematics.
- Understanding of Mathematical Habits of Mind.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices such as the CRA (Concrete–
Representational–Abstract) pathway.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in education.
- Experience facilitating student-centered coaching cycles.
- Experience supporting adult learners through Professional Learning Communities
(PLCs) and other professional development.
- Experience with school-level data collection and accountability for grant reporting.
- Experience supporting implementation of evidence-based numeracy instruction.
