Remote CDI Specialist
The HIMpros is seeking an experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist with strong clinical documentation review experience. In this fully remote role, you will review medical records to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant documentation that supports appropriate coding, reimbursement, and quality reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct retrospective reviews of medical records to assess documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for provider queries to improve documentation quality.
- Collaborate with providers, coders, and other healthcare team members to ensure alignment with coding and clinical documentation standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of AHA Coding Clinic, Official Coding Guidelines, CMS regulations, and CDI best practices.
- Meet productivity and quality expectations while working in a fully remote, HIPAA-compliant environment.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CDI experience.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and clinical documentation standards.
- Experience working with electronic health records and CDI/coding software.
- High-speed internet and a secure, HIPAA-compliant home office.
- CCDS or CDIP certification preferred, but not required.
