Better Baseball Houston (Katy) is opening Fall 2026 — join the founding team. The Player Experience Specialist, a role built for players who loves the game, loves gear, and is passionate about delivering a world-class experience to every player who walks through our doors. You’re not just helping players buy equipment, you’re helping them perform at their highest level. You’ll work hands-on with players of all ages and skill levels across every touchpoint of the Better Baseball experience, from the cages, glove world, to the register, making sure every interaction reflects the standard our players expect and deserve.
- Engage with players and families to understand their needs, position, and playing style, delivering a knowledgeable, energetic, and personalized experience from the moment they walk in to the moment they walk out
- Guide players to the right glove based on position, hand size, and personal preference, walking them through construction, materials, and fit so they leave confident in their choice
- Perform glove break-in using steaming, mallet work, and conditioning techniques, shaping each glove to the player’s hand so it’s game-ready from day one
- Help players find the right bat through weight, length, drop, and league compliance, ensuring every player swings a bat built for their size, strength, and style of play
- Apply professional bat grip tape with precision and care, offering players a custom, game-ready finish that reflects their personal style and improves feel at the plate
- Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of Better Baseball’s full assortment, gloves, bats, and beyond, so you can make confident, informed recommendations for every player who walks through the door
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining the energy and enthusiasm of the Better Baseball experience all the way to the final handshake
- Recognize when a player’s current gear isn’t serving their game and recommend the right upgrades, repairs, or adjustments to get them performing at their best
- Ensuring products are perfectly placed, displays are visually compelling, and shelves are always fully stocked
- Previous experience or training in leatherworking or baseball glove repair
- Must possess a strong baseball background and a keen understanding of current product trends
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
