Job Summary
Plan, prepare, implement, monitor, and evaluate a high-quality, competency-based Business Education Program for middle and high school students that prepares learners for success in both post-secondary education and the workforce. Provide effective instruction that develops students' knowledge and skills in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, and technology while preparing them to earn industry certifications and qualify for entry-level employment opportunities. Courses taught include Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Business Law. Instruction will incorporate real-world applications, project-based learning, career exploration, and industry certification preparation to ensure students develop the technical, academic, and employability skills needed for success in today's competitive business environment.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating innovative learning technology and teaching strategies.
- Deliver engaging instruction in business concepts, accounting, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship to students across various grade levels.
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, standardized testing, and formative evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to collaboration and respect.
- Mentor students on academic pathways, career exploration, and personal development while fostering their literacy education and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, extracurricular activities such as business clubs or competitions, and school-wide initiatives.
- Incorporate special education strategies when working with diverse learners and adapt lessons for students with individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance; prepare reports for administration as required.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of business principles including finance, marketing, economics, and entrepreneurship.
- Excellent communication skills for public speaking, classroom instruction, mentoring, and collaborating with colleagues.
- Skilled in classroom management techniques that promote respectful behavior and active engagement among students.
