Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director - Physician to lead our clinical operations with passion and precision. This is also a partnership position. As a Medical Director, you will oversee clinical practices, guide medical staff, and drive quality improvement initiatives that elevate the overall healthcare experience. Duties
- Provide expert medical leadership by developing and implementing clinical policies aligned with industry standards such as NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
- Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and seamless integration across departments.
- Lead clinical research initiatives, including protocol development, regulatory compliance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations, and data analysis to advance medical knowledge and practice.
- Supervise medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and administrative personnel, fostering professional development through teaching and mentoring.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards by managing utilization review processes, medical records accuracy, and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
- Collaborate with hospital administration on practice management, budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning to optimize operational efficiency.
- Drive quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care quality while maintaining high standards of safety and service excellence.
- Manage healthcare projects related to clinical development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Proven post-residency experience in a leadership role within a hospital or healthcare organization.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical development processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in EMR/EHR systems management along with proficiency in electronic health records management tools.
- Strong background in clinical research, healthcare management, managed care strategies, and compliance management including HIPAA and FDA regulations.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams within a hospital or clinical setting; previous teaching or academic leadership roles are highly valued.
- Familiarity with healthcare quality standards such as NCQA standards and utilization management practices.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments including DEA regulations for controlled substances.
- Skilled in project management methodologies to lead initiatives from conception through execution effectively.
