Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. As our primary small engine mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of pressure washing equipment, including but not limited to pressure washers on trailers and skids, hot boxes (such as Pressure Pro), 12v systems, pumps, gear boxes, hoses, tanks, etc. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, safety, and longevity of our customers' equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough diagnostics to identify issues with pressure washing rigs.
- Conduct repairs on equipment, including engine overhauls, carburetor adjustments, ignition system repairs, replacing hoses, and more.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines and equipment to replace faulty parts or perform maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair, including parts used, labor hours, and the nature of the repair.
- Provide advice to customers on maintenance and care of their small engines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to discuss complex repair cases and share insights.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or similar role - and we don't mean you fixed a few mowers in your dads garage.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of small engines and related systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in small engine repair.
- Solid understanding of fuel systems, electrical systems, and ignition systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving industry standards and technologies.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record , and be ILLEGAL DRUG FREE!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience. Potential for more based on performance, attitude, and overall work.
Expected hours: 40 per week, opportunity for overtime for trusted employees.
Background and drug testing performed for qualified candidates before hire.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday 7:30 - 4:30 (when the store is open)
- No nights no weekends
