JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll for all employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of payroll systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle complex payroll issues. The Payroll Specialist works closely with HR, Finance, and management to maintain payroll accuracy and support employee needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Well-developed organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Competency with Microsoft Office applications and bookkeeping tasks. Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process full-cycle payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and salary changes.
- Audit and reconcile payroll data to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Process garnishments, benefit deductions, bonuses, and special payroll adjustments.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for HR, Finance, and management.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll filings, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and taxes.
- Support audits by providing payroll records and documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar).
- Understanding of payroll compliance regulations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and HRIS knowledge.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB manufacturing location Monday through Friday as deemed necessary. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 2–4 years of payroll experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to work in cubicle setting.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
