Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, financial performance, and successful execution of assigned projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage heavy civil and underground utility projects from startup through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
- Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, engineers, and inspectors
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and construction documents
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and project documentation
- Track quantities, production, labor, equipment, materials, and overall project costs
- Identify potential cost or schedule issues early and develop solutions before they impact the project
- Procure materials and coordinate deliveries to support field schedules
- Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices
- Prepare and review project billings, pay applications, and change-order pricing
- Conduct project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders
- Work closely with field leadership to develop efficient construction plans, sequencing, and production goals
- Ensure projects comply with company safety standards, contract requirements, and quality expectations
- Assist with estimating, project handoff, constructability reviews, and preconstruction planning as needed
- Manage project closeout, punch-list completion, documentation, and final billing
Qualifications
- Experience managing heavy civil, underground utility, site development, or similar construction projects
- Strong knowledge of underground utility construction, including water, sewer, storm drain, and related civil infrastructure
- Ability to read and understand civil plans, specifications, details, and contract documents
- Strong understanding of construction costs, production rates, scheduling, change management, and project financials
- Ability to coordinate multiple crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the field
- Proficiency with standard construction and project-management software
- Valid driver’s license
What We’re Looking For
