We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis. You’ll support daily service by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean workspace, and helping the kitchen run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Prep and portion ingredients: wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice produce; measure and mix ingredients; label and date all prepped items - Banking and meat fabrication is a plus.
- Assist with station setup: stock the line with prepped items, sauces, and garnishes; refill as needed during service.
- Basic cooking tasks: par-cook items (blanching, roasting), prepare simple sauces and dressings, follow standardized recipes.
- Food safety and cleanliness: follow HACCP/ServSafe standards; rotate stock (FIFO); maintain sanitation logs; keep prep areas, equipment, and tools clean and organized; break down and sanitize stations.
- Receiving and storage: accept deliveries, check quality, put away inventory correctly, and track low-stock items.
- Equipment use: safely operate knives, slicers, mixers, food processors; report maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Collaboration: support chefs as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior prep or kitchen experience preferred; we’ll train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and kitchen safety.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
Schedule and Pay
- Part-time: 15–25 hours per week, including weekends/holidays as needed.
- Shifts typically mornings/afternoons to support dinner service.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience; employee meal; potential for growth.
