Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Attendant to join our dynamic team at the JEA. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall orderliness of a large commercial building. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and techniques
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and ensuring proper hygiene practices are followed
- Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, and polishing hard floors to keep surfaces spotless and well-maintained
- Assist with commercial cleaning projects by dusting furniture, cleaning windows, and sanitizing high-touch areas
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use to promote safety and efficiency
- Provide friendly customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude
- Assist in room preparations for events and programs
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial work, janitorial services, or housekeeping roles with a focus on residential or commercial cleaning
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards and floor care techniques including carpet cleaning and floor polishing
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor that fosters trust and satisfaction
- Skilled in using various cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Experience with housekeeper management or supervising cleaning staff is advantageous for leadership opportunities
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted and be able to maneuver around 100,000sq. ft building with two floors
