Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas are tidy and ready for guests
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers and other cleaning machinery
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas in compliance with sanitation standards
- Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety management and sanitation practices
- Experience with food handling, food preparation, and restaurant operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills and heavy lifting techniques
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently
- Previous experience in hospitality or catering environments is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high standards of hygiene
