Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, maintaining accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, including signs of dementia or Alzheimer's disease, to nursing staff promptly.
- Facilitate activities that promote residents’ mental and emotional well-being, including memory care and engagement in therapeutic activities.
- Follow aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or wound management to prevent infections.
- Assist with patient transfers using proper patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure.
- Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care facilities or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (CPR).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate documentation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and practice manual handling techniques consistently.
- Strong communication skills for caregiving and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Prior experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice support or memory care is highly desirable.

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
