The Food & Beverage Team Member, reporting to the Food & Beverage Lead/Supervisor, is responsible for providing guests with food and drinks in a fast, friendly , and efficient manner. They are also responsible for preparing and cooking food for guests quickly, efficiently, and hygienically. This may include working at Sharky’s Cafe, operating a cash register, assembling food, and serving guests, grilling burgers and hot dogs, cooking pizza, frying fries and nuggets, and preparing cotton candy. The Food & Beverage Team Member may also maintain a clean and organized work area, follow food safety guidelines, handle customer complaints or requests, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhere to food safety guidelines, and handle and dispose of cooking grease. A normal shift is 4 1/2 hours but can be a full day (9 to 10 hours). Expect to work between 27 hours and 54 hours a week.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) cash registers, receive money, and return accurate change to customers;
- Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced and high-volume environment;
- Perform clean-up duties of all kinds in the café, outside birthday pavilions, outside seating areas, and kitchen before, during, and after a shift;
- Greet guests, take their orders, and deliver food promptly and accurately with a positive attitude;
- Maintain an organized cash register for sales;
- Complete end-of-day cashier paperwork;
- Fill condiment dispensers;
- Operate front counter food machines such as soda, slushy, cotton candy, popcorn warms, and ice cream freezers;
- Assemble and cook food;
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment;
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (burgers out of the freezer, fryer oil placed in the fryer, etc.);
- Cook food with various utensils, grills, ovens, pizza cookers, cotton candy machines;
- Monitor food while cooking to ensure high quality of food such as flipping, removing from the fryer, seasoning, loading and unloading pizza from the pizza cooker;
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served;
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen;
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly;
- Check the quality of ingredients;
- Responsible for adhering to Splash Dayz uniform and grooming guidelines;
- Observe all safety rules and procedures;
Clock in and out each day to receive correct pay, approving time daily in the payroll system.

- Must be at least 16 years of age;
- Texas food handler certification (must have before the first day of operation);

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work indoors and outdoors;
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time in direct and indirect sunlight;
- This is safety-sensitive due to hot temperatures cleaning chemicals;
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
- Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors, and the public;
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
